Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son arrested in minor sexual assault case
The arrest came hours after the Telangana High Court refused to grant him interim protection from arrest.

In a bizarre incident, armed robbers struck a jewellery showroom in Telangana’s Karimnagar city on Sunday, injuring three employees.
The PMJ Jewellery showroom is located in the Jyothinagar area of the city. Five unidentified gunmen stormed the showroom and opened fire on staff. Soon after, they ran away with valueables. The daylight robbery has triggered panic in the area, while police has launched a massive hunt for the robbers, IANS reported.

All the five assailants arrived at the jewellery store posing as customers. While the staff was busy showing them various items, the pulled out firearms and started firing to create panic.

In the incident, four staff mumbers sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to a private hospital for emergency treatment.
The robbers looted display counters and stuffed the jewellery into bags before escaping from the showroom.
In a CCTV footage of the incident, the five robbers, including two wearing caps, could be seen holding weapons and ordering employees to kneel down and raise their hands.

Frightened employees at the jewellery store, including two women, could be seen obeying the orders of the robbers. Before escaping, one of them even blindfolded the security guard.
After hearing gunshots, local residents as well as neighbouring shopkeepers alerted the police, while the area was cordoned off.
Later on, senior police officials visited the jewellery shop and initiated a preliminary investigation. Forensic teams also reached there to collect evidence.
Investigators are now analysing the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and trace their escape route and a manhunt has been launched across the city and outskirts. Police has set up checkpoints at key exit points to intercept the gang.
As of now, details regarding the value of the stolen property are unknown.

Sanjay Kumar, who is MP from Karimnagar, said the incident occurred a few metres away from his office.
“When the staff resisted, they opened fire, injuring the sales manager and other employees. As per the doctors, there is no immediate threat to their lives. They are being shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment,” Kumar posted on X.
